Iñaki Sandoval
is one of the Spanish
jazz musicians with more projection in the last years.
His first album "sausolito",
recorded in trio setting with bassist Horacio Fumero
and drummer Peer Wyboris (rhythm section of
the great Tete Montoliu) has been nominated finalist to
the Spanish Music Academy Awards 2005 as "Best Jazz
Album of the Year". JAÇZ magazine has said: "probably,
the best debut album of the year".

Critics
describe him as a musician that combines a perfect and
transparent technique with an exquisite sensitiveness,
and a deep respect for the tradition but with his own
personality, both reflected in his own compositions and
language. Even he is very young , all agree to emphasize
over all his maturity and strength is his performance
skills.
Formed
originally as a classical pianist at the Liceu
Conservatory in Barcelona, soon turned into the
jazz/improvisational conception and moved to the United
States to study at the prestigious Berklee College of
Music in Boston. He is also Master in Arts by the
University of Nevada in Las Vegas (UNLV).
He lives now
back in Spain, where he is the director of L'AULA de
Musica Moderna i Jazz and director of the Jazz Studies
Department at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, where
he teaches piano and improvisation.
